Blueberry Camera Housing

$45.00

Out of stock

Blueberry, similar to v01, but large enough to accommodate an HQ cam, and wide enough for a regular camera board with illuminators and IR cut filter.

Printed in blue PETG, the parts have a nice finish, and the lights seep out through the translucent material, especially at night. PETG should also weather better than PLA, but the real reason it is in PETG and it is blue is that I had it sitting around and needed to use it. This and the next few cams are the Bubble Gum series of my RPi cam housings.

The base has a holder for the same DROK 5A 12v to 5v buck converter held in with double-sided tape, and has built up standoffs. The tapered design adds stability, so that it is not a tall, thin structure.

Description

Blueberry is version 2

It still has many of the flaws of v1: base is tethered to the cowl; large and expensive buck converter. What you cannot see in the picture is the work filing down edges to get the base to slide in to the cowl and to get the camera mounting wall to fit in the slot.

It also flops apart when you are assembling/disassembling it, since there is nothing to hold the cam-wall until everything is set in place, and then it is just friction.

It also suffers from the deficiency of not having an incorporated mount point. All you can really do is sit it on a shelf, or a table, or the floor (or a box on the floor), etc.
